Did a speedrun of all the games from racheldrawsthis and damn are they all good, if there's ever a longer game that comes out I'd be the first to download it!!
This Game is SOOOO GOODDDD. I got into games by Studio Investigrave when I first played Dead Plate, and now I have played and made videos on all of them because of how good these games are. The characters look amazing, the sound design and CGs are phenomenal and the endings of this game, oh my, they are... interesting? sad? Terrifying? All of them really. Here's my full gameplay of Eloquent Countenance with All Endings if you're interested ^-^
My friends and I are doing a master's degree in Multimedia Translation in France. We are actually working on a game localization project and have to localize a video game in French. We are seeking for game developer and translate their game into French. If you are interested, let me know.
I can see how much work was put into this and honestly it completely blew my mind! I simply adore the artstyle, character desing, funny dialog lines and sounds. 5/5!!
Unfortunately can't play it on MacOS, the game opens but crashes as soon as the CW intro ends. Tried multiple times with the same outcome. Hope I'll be able to play it sometimes!
Every studio investigrave game gets a 5/5 from mee!! I love the dialogue and the choices, it really makes the story more intriguing than it already is! I also love the characters' personalities and designs (even the creepy nuns and cult followers, they all really enhance the horror game experience haha), the mysteries and puzzles, the religious based storyline, etc. This was genuinely such a fun game to play and as always, I'm looking forward to the upcoming games you make!
Btw, I loved the song choice at the end of ending 2! I love the piece Canon in D hahaha (I think that's the song...), it's funny because it's mostly used for weddings instead of yk, (fake) funerals! The music gave me the chills when reading the dialogue, background sounds/music really have an effect in the experience lol
The art design and the design of the church is fantastic. I love the protagonist's big braids. The design of the puzzles was a little clunky, but I still enjoyed them!
(Spoiler talk below)
It's interesting to me that when you "fail the test", forcas seems to be addressing the wife's consciousness, and vice versa, when you "pass" the test, forcas seems to be speaking to the angel. If I'm understanding the story correctly, the wife tragically only gets to take control on the story path that leads to her mind being erased. She had a good heart after all, too good to survive... This is really cool!
i dont believe the soul of the wife is in play at all, other than the angel lying about being her to continue possessing angelicas body without suspicion
true, that's also very possible. It would mean that Forcas is wrong in the test failed ending, but if he's only basing it on the protagonist's behavior then he would have no way of knowing
such a cool game, i love all of rachel's games they never disappoint me! there is lag but i just put up with it because i was so interested in this game!
Heyy, I've played most of your games and so far I love all of them! This one is next on my list but I'm struggling with the lag. I've tried extracting the 'windows lag test' .zip but it didn't work (not sure if I have to do anything else "-3-).
If anyone sees this and knows how to fix it I would appreciate the help :,)
read the title as "Eloquent Encountenance" at first until i realized that isn't a word and Counterance would make more sense until i read it again while writing this comment and realized BOTH of them aren't words though i swear i've heard them somewhere and the actual title is Countenance, which i did have to google, it means Eloquent facial expression or Eloquent support, i think support makes more sense but idk, this whole comment was kinda dumb so, sorry.
4/5 great and brief but with a punch that packs, ultimately the limitations… of the requirements of one interactive world piece… make me incapable of walking away not wanting more. I was invested but felt it needed another hour to be perfect. I want to see this style deepen… good job :)
Great game! I recommend everyone to try it out. I love the characters, especially forcas. Thank you for making this, hope you continue making more games!
The main character, Angelica, had been possessed by her own guardian angel who had fallen. After the Pastors wife died the Pastor (and/or the followers of this church/cult) wanted a way to bring her back. So they listened to the voice of Angelica's (fallen) guardian angel and used Angelica as a sort of "vessel" for the wife. However ofc, the angel was lying when she said she'd bring the wife back and instead used Angelica's body for herself, so she could walk around Earth as she pleases (or something like that, since angels need a vessel, and fallen angels have their vessels taken.) Forcas had been the only angel willing to help Angelica, seeing that she hadn't been completely possessed (her and the fallen angel were fighting for control of the body). Also the entire funeral for the Pastor was staged, so they could see if the ritual actually worked on her. Just throwing that in incase you didnt pick up on it SORRY THIS IS SO LENGTHY!! I tried to keep my explanation as simple yet detailed as possible.
I clicked on this game because it was the only one I hadn't heard of from racheldrawsthis, and I'm really glad I did! It was a short but fun (AND LIKE. LEGIT TERRIFYING. HELLO.) experience for me, and I like the story quite a bit even if it's just slightly infodump-y at the end (but tbh, fair -- because I can see the merit in it with Forcas + the time limit and inexperience and all)

Forcas, on his way to try to convince you to trust him while saying "don't start assuming I'm evil just yet", describing himself as a "suspicious angel reeking of old man energy" and occasionally trying to seem menacing in order to scare you into obeying:
Also like. Veering into spoiler territory but for some actual plot/character analysis.
I really like that Angelica's being possessed by her own guardian angel. After falling, her angel likely comes specifically after her, because a human without an angelic protector would logically be a far easier target.
And we don't know how much of what Forcas says is lies- or whether he ever lies at all, he's meant to be testing Angelica's blind obedience faith, not lying to her. But he mentions that he was already assigned to a human in the church, and that he'd be reassigned to Angie if she listened to him... what happens to his initial human then?
Is this, at least in part, why Forcas wasn't supposed to be helping? He's just trading one human for another, picking favorites instead of following his duty and being a steadfast protector. And yet, his "picking favorites" is based on a sense of morality and empathy: he doesn't want to ignore a helpless innocent while protecting one of the fundamentalist cultists who's hurting them.
All in all, I really like how Forcas is constantly compared negatively to the divine, and even takes his name from demonology- and yet, when push comes to shove, he's truly caring and merciful while the heavens are cold and detached, only not rebelling outright because he'd lose his position to help if he did.

Love this game. It's short and sweet and I can't wait for your next release Rachel!
The lags bother me so much ;( And the thing is, I don't know why I'm lagging. I've been running way more requiring games without any issues.

Hello Miss Rachel. I was looking through the folders for this game and found SEVERAL images of a supposed other game. What are they????
(sorry, English is not my mother tongue. I used Google Translate)
was anyone lowkey confused with this game? i kinda understand but i need someone to make it simple to understand 0_0;

omg thank you! this actually helps with making more sense, knowing this makes the game even more interesting :)
Random thoughtsss
why do forcas and the protagonist both look like winnie from cold front 😭

Can anyone with more brain cells than me explain the ending to me? My few remaining cells died trying to make sense of all of this.

Thanks a lot, man I appreciate you. Your explanation is pretty spot-on I finally understand what's going on in this super cool game
