Wonderful game! I love the art style and personally the restaurant theme as a whole! Great dialogue and the gameplay made it super enjoyable even if stressful lol. Best of luck on your next games!
I absolutely love this game! It's a little glitchy and sometimes the maps wouldn't load and I'd have to quit and I struggled for a while before I realized you have to keep running into the item you're trying to interact with but other than that it was amazing. The plot line is super interesting and I really loved the art style and the chibi pixel art for the serving mini-game. The contrast between a sweet restaurant serving game to "Oh god that man is insane," makes for an interesting contrast. Anyway, 10/10 would recommend you play this immediately.
Wraaah new game from y'all!!! I like games set in the 1940~60s, so this was obviously fit to my taste, along with the horror aspects in some of your games :D ty to studio investigrave for the good art, music, and overall game :)
Aaaaaa there's so much to say about this!!! This game was thought out so thoroughly and is so story rich - both in dialogue and in the actual mechanics!! Love how many interactive objects there are, and how they each add a dimension to the narrative: the different dishes as an end-card! the dialogue getting more comfortable as the days progress! the newspaper with the waiter critique crossed out! love how the difficulty is scaled, it adds a sense of responsibility for a visual novel type game without feeling "mini-gamey," extremely well balanced and smart to introduce that restaurant tycoon style in the beginning. the haptics and change in sound atmosphere added to an increasingly tension filled story. got spooked a couple times for sure. visually, a feast as well. the art and music were super engaging and well thought out! loved the sprites of each customer and the clothing designs to fit the era. the dialogue fit each character so well, and I love how it subverts a narrative to create something really rather unique story-wise. sorry for the long blurb, very much enjoyed the game and deeply sad I finished it so fast!
Is there a way to save? Played through first day, then when I looked in the fridge, I clicked everything and pressed x/y but there was no way to stop looking at it so I quit.

Would be great to have different directions for the sprite and a greater radius for picking certain things up, feels like I'm so wide but I can't pick things unless I'm directly in front of it. Maybe an indicator when something can be selected
The fridge page is clickable so you were supposed to click the X on the top right side of the page. You can save by interacting with the couch in Rody's apartment- first it'll give you an "lie down" or "look out the window" option. Choose to lie down then there will be a pop up that let you either save or end the day which would progress you to the next day.
As stated in the download instruction page, you need to put the entire zip folder in Desktop, unzip, then drag only the Game app outside the folder to Desktop. If the screen turns to pitch black, close and restart. Keep trying to launch and eventually it will let you.
I have a question, will the game have another language in the future? The game looks interesting but I don't know much English because I'm Spanish, and that's why I ask because I would really like to play it.
I really enjoyed the game. The art is great and gameplay is fun, though frustrating sometimes with the few bugs but nothing major in the end. Getting to know Rody and Vince through in-between shift conversations is such a smart idea which makes you want to explore and do well in the serving part so you can have extra time for looking around. The build-up towards the end was also great and the clues scattered about was enough for me to decipher the mystery. Though some of my expectations were subverted, it was a great story nonetheless. Overall, really fun game which I would recommend for anyone wanting a short but sweet experience. Also, I just really enjoyed the restaurant tycoon part a lot, despite the few bugs. Awesome game all around.

Apart from a bit of glitchiness here and there, it's a very engaging game! I do wish it was longer, because the need to consume more Dead Plate content is... consuming me :) Once you get a hang of customer service, it becomes really fun in a challenging way. The story is cleverly written, the only unsubtle thing about the entire plot being the hot mess that is the life of Rody, the MC. I really enjoyed learning about the characters through their interactions; the game promises a character-driven plot and it does serve very effectively in that regard, so please play for all endings to get the full course.
Tip: certain environmental clues are easily missable, so try to explore everything possible.

just finished the whole game and all the endings in a single playthrough and it was great!!! the art is super dope, the music is real nice, i really liked the simple yet enjoyable gameplay driven sections (may be hard to get at first but it gets easy with a lil practice), the story was really good and managed to be really moving while getting into the main character's story a lot for a short game which is super cool
(i also really like the double meaning of the bistrot's name which i found odd at first)
anyways overall great game go play it if u can! keep in mind the tws and aux clients, soyez patients envers notre serveur et bon appétit chez La Gueule de Saturne :)
You need to buy the items first (which are avaliable via the catalog on the table in Rody's apartment) then when you're at the equip screen later it should be avaliable to be point and clickable!
Hey, Windows user here ! It seems like I'm the only one experiencing this looking at the other comments (as they have been able to finish it) but my game seems to have an issue letting me interact with items (like putting the meal tickets on the thing to notify the chefs cooking, then when I finally was able to do that I couldn't pick up or interact with the food on the counter). I was wondering if there was anyway to fix this ? Thank you !
Hello! Because the character sprite is always facing forward it can sometimes be difficult to tell if you are facing the spot you want to interact with! Please make sure you're facing the right direction (so arrow keys first) before pressing [Z] and that should let your input go through! Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hello! One of my playtesters encountered the same issue but they were able to play the game as normal once they dragged the Game app outside of the folder and onto the Desktop! Maybe give that a try?
Just asked what the process was with the previous playtester- Could you try putting the extracted folder as a whole out to Desktop first and then drag the Game App out of that folder?
Alright! That worked. I put the entire zip folder in Desktop, then unzipped, then dragged only Game app outside the folder to Desktop. One minor error I immediately encountered while starting up the game was this however:
The menu showing New Shift / Continue showed for a few seconds then flickered to a black screen. But, I was able to simply reset the game and things are going smoothly so far.
Thanks for all your hard work and patience! Developing for Mac seems tricky for all the security and permissions stuff haha

Fun game as usual, guys! Rachel and Ekrix's art were great, and I loved the music of Bell Kalengar! While I do think it could use a slight bit more polishing when it comes to story and art direction, it's still a unique and fun experience which made me want to keep on seeing what comes next!
As I said though, the notes I would make would be for story and art direction. The combination of a tile-based movement system with objects that didn't fill their tile size, and spritework that remained relatively static even when animated made the overall experience feel a bit sluggish and unresponsive for me. Such problems can easily be fixed though by simply adding sprites or icons for things like moving in each direction, customers getting antsy, customers eating, and also pushing out the size of things like tables a bit more to feel more accurate to the movement you're constrained to. The horror aspects were neat additions of spice to the story but I feel like at times it could be done a bit more discreetly or fit a bit more with the visuals of the game to let me as a viewer take it a bit more seriously without it feeling like it's too out of place. The scene with the cook's face being pushed towards the stove stands out for me personally as kind of odd. Like why is anybody working under these conditions, y'know?
I do love the concept though and feels like a game in a sort of more overt "normal man goes to work at a haunted/cursed restaurant and has to serve under increasingly creepier conditions" setting could do really well with just some slightly more experienced art direction and more time put behind it! Would be a great story hook to see the second or third customer come in as a ghost or something that you now have to serve, y'know!
These are though very much just some small things I noticed and I think everybody did a stellar job on the production! Love to see what you make in the future!

I do want to say the game's direction wasn't supposed to be a "haunted/cursed restaurant" kind of story as Dead Plate isn't a supernatural/paranormal horror game, it falls into a more psychological horror category with elements of drama and thriller with the horror mostly coming from the characters and their relationships and the environment they create, something that has the feel of classic horror films from the 1960s. Hope that clears some things up!
I do agree on the visual critique, it would've been helpful to have more visual indicators- maybe in the future update we'll make sprites communicate clearly during the gameplay! Thank you!
Ah alright then, that makes sense! Just called it supernatural as some of the events like the dreams feel a bit headed in that haunted direction, but that was probably some quick generalization on my part. Thanks for clearing that up!
I liked this game a lot! It wasn't too difficult to get past any of the levels, and it's relatively easy to get all of the endings. All of the art and music is very nice, and watching the characters interact is quite entertaining. Overall, the game is a nice experience for those who enjoy psychological horror. Well done! :)

How do you equip those items??? I'm on Day 5, yet I still can't equip them before starting the shift
