this game just blew my mind holy fuck

(+1)

I... I didn't survive very long :D

I love the aesthetics and the idea behind the exploration. It didn't feel super intuitive to get into and It'd be better if you didn't have to use fn to move the camera up and down. I'm assuming there's a reason for it though and I'm sorry if you've already heard that a 1000 times already :D

I'm generally not much of completionist, and I don't love it when games let you fail so early on. But you've definitely created something really interesting here so I will have to give this a few more tries.

(+1)

Thank you for giving the game a try, it means a lot! I getcha, the whole game was developed around the idea of having to go through trial-and-error without prior instructions or hints (just like in real world workplace where you need to be mature and navigate all on your own)- But don't worry, the game autosaves itself so that no progress have been actually lost even if you did die/restart so hopefully it doesn't come off as too frustrating for you! The game does require you to fail in order to learn!!

(+1)

That is kind of genius then and I think I might just need to toughen up :D Will def give it some more runs.

(+1)

Fantastic game!!!! I'm having a super fun time playing it! The atmosphere is immaculate, the character design/expressions/dynamics are fantastic, and the sound design!!! It's been awhile since I've played something so interesting :> one question though, regarding Ending 12; I had been playing the game while only skimming through the guide when I needed it and told my coworker I trusted him (he's silly n I like him) - do I have to restart the whole game in order to get all the endings since I missed that ending? If so, I don't mind, I'm enjoying the game either way :>

Thank you so much for checking the game out, I'm so so honored that you enjoy it!!

The game will automatically reset once you see ending 1, but it still will remember all the posters you collected even if everything else are set to the beginning- so while yes you still have to go through some puzzles and dialogues in order for you to get to the point where you could get any endings you missed the game will know all the deaths/endings you've seen so far (even if you didn't see them in this new run)! So you can just see the any endings you missed. Hope this was helpful!!

(+1)

It was very helpful, thanks a ton!!!!

heyy im loving the atmosphere of the game so far, unfortunately i cant seem to look up/down? i have the fn key but 1) that controls the brightness on my computer and 2) when i try to use the keys regardless they dont work except for left/right; any tips? i really wanna play

Hey!! I'm honored that you find the atmosphere enjoyable, it means a lot! And oh no I'm so sorry to hear that you're having technical difficulties! The fn look up/down key is a totally optional function, it doesn't really matter to play or progress the game normally so if it doesn't work you don't have to worry too much about it! You can still continue!

(+1)

thank you! i'll get to playing the game then

Hey, i'm just really confused what to do after i got all the endings to get the secret ending

Hi there!! I'm honored to hear that you played through the game, thank you for checking it out!! The secret ending should automatically play itself once you restart the game after getting all the endings/posters- but I've been hearing that few others are having the same problem of not getting it. Thank you for letting me know, I'll try to look more into it and fix it for the next build! It's nothing that important so you're not missing out too much!! Thank you once again for playing!

(+1)

Thanks for the reply!

(+2)

Love love love this game! so creepy and funky.

Had some issues with the secret ending though,

I restarted the game after doing all of the endings and still have the poster wall but i cant figure out what i missed because i did all of them. would there be a way to record the secret ending or put up a photo of the wall so i can see what im missing? (I dont have the fn key so i can't look up in the 3d mode)

You don't need to look up, you can just press Z to interact with the wall.

Ah, I didn't explain myself properly. I meant I need a photo of the pixelated wall before you interact with it, as it has a picture of all the posters you can get, but once I interact with it I only see the posters that I already have and I'm trying to work out which one im missing since i was like 99% sure i got them all.

I think you're missing the poster for ending 14? It's bugged rn.

(1 edit) (+2)

Everything about this game is so well done and it was overall an absolute treat to play. Incorporates horror in an office setting in a perfectly atmospheric way.

What first drew me in was the art - the art style is super cute, so when the tone changes it really catches you off guard with the more creepy CGs. I love the variation in sprite poses, character expressions, and of course, the vast number of CGs you see throughout your playthrough. Truly a feast for the eyes. Then, there's the music. Every single track in this game encapsulates the floor's atmosphere absolutely perfectly. What really stood out to me were floor 4 and 8's tracks; the way they put a childish/glitchy spin on the main theme really makes those floors off-putting. My favorite thing, though, is the dialogue/characters. The humor they add is a great breather in between all the creepy stuff. Particularly love the recurring gag with the coworker giving us fake names, and also how there's special dialogue if you keep the rat alive!

The only criticism I have is that, like many others here, ending 14 did not activate upon a new playthrough (I did triple check I got all deaths), but I did read the dev's comment about what the ending entails so it's no biggie. One other minor thing is that you can't re-check the telephone number after closing out of its window, so I had to find it in the guide since I misread the first '9' as a '4'. But like I said, it's no big deal.

TLDR; Play this game, you won't regret it! Great art + great ost + great dialogue + great execution!

(+2)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you put your thoughts in this very well-written text!

The child room floor was really fun for me to compose, mixing the music box with some child SFX!

(2 edits) (+5)

Really enjoyed this, I love time prison and office settings so getting both was a real treat (especially with how it highlights The Horror Of Working In An Office). A long time ago I watched Jim Henson’s The Cube and this really reminded me of the Strange And Uncanny Vibes in that movie.

I was about to type ‘in particular, I loved—’ but realized I’d list practically everything. The music is perfectly atmospheric, especially when it got warped (and I really liked the music box version). The art style is super expressive and fun, definitely worked well when horror elements amped up. I liked how bite-sized the loops were (in some cases, literally), and the characters made such a strong impression. I love how annoying and insufferable your companion is, would love to push him down several flights of stairs. I think my favorite bit of writing was giving the answer ‘I’m irreplaceable’ and the interviewer bringing up the scissors. I also really liked floor 4 for how well it Implied Things about the main character’s experiences, very effective backstory hints.

While playing this (by backseat gaming while my sister actually played it), we did miss ending 4 and 6 before getting ending 1, but after getting sent to the beginning with all the posters on the wall and getting the missing endings, we still weren’t able to get ending 14. I triple checked, and we definitely got them all (including the 3a/3b variations). The only potential discrepancy we didn’t follow up on was that we got the hole ending with nothing in our inventory, so we technically didn’t put anything in the hole. Of course it’s entirely possible that despite all my checking, we did, in fact, miss something obvious, but I figured I’d note this in case it was relevant. Oh, also when we clicked on the cake and selected ‘no’ for picking it up, the cake stayed on the screen while we were moving around until we clicked back and took the cake.

Great job with this one, really glad to have played it :)

(+1)

Really enjoyed this game! Great Atmosphere and lots of fun deaths.

(+3)(-1)

had a great time playing this game with my friends and wow,,, really like funky chars and locations!!
tho i also wanted to ask, was there any inspiration taken from the magnus archives? (I MEAN IT IN A NICEST WAY POSSIBLE PLS PLS) or maybe im just imagining things (;;
still, thr game is amazing uwaagh you did a great job!!!!;;;; <3

(+1)

This game was a delight! I really love the atmosphere and am a sucker for elevator-related horrors <33 Your character designs are *chef's kiss* I love themmm <333 Keep up the good work! I really love the game ^^

(+1)

this game was so fun!! i love love love the art style and unique gameplay :3

(+1)

I really liked this game overall!! Loved the atmosphere and art

Just a question about ending 14: I'm pretty sure I did all the other endings (used a checklist to keep track), but after finishing the 'Escape' ending, a small cutscene played, credits rolled and the game went back to the title. I pressed on 'New Game' but instead of getting ending 14, all the game data was erased and I had to restart? I'm not sure if this was a bug or if I did miss an ending by accident which is why it reset ;;

(+1)

I'm so glad you enjoyed the game!! And oh no!! Did it fully reset? Is the wall of the posters you collect for each endings still there with all your previous posters? If so, it means you missed something and didn't get every ending yet!

(+1)

Thank you so much for that!! I just checked and the posters are all intact, so I definitely missed something so thats on me lol :,D
Otherwise just wanted to say this game is really amazing and one of my all time favourite indies now ^^

i went through all the endings in one route and didnt get the secret route, did I do something wrong?

When you restarted the game even after you saw the escape ending/credits- was the wall of posters that you collect for every ending/death still there? If so, it means you still missed something!

(3 edits) (+1)

(This is Pri Karin, yet again I forgot to use my solo account to comment 😂)

This was a lot of fun!! I really loved the whole aesthetic and vibe of this game and the art, dialogue & music were amazing 😍❤️

The death endings were terrifying, particularly ending 8 😱

Also, I REALLY love the symbolism of the fear of a first interview translated into something absolutely horrifying!

SPOILERS AHEAD

Even when you manage to escape, after successfully completing the interview, it's still horror-inducing with how the MC basically has no other choice but to keep the job! 😭

I think my only critique is that, in order to get ending '???' you have to follow the guide suuuper closely and not make any mistakes (as in accidentally solving the floors before you get the bad ending) or you'll have to re-start all over again 🤔 which can get a bit frustrating. Though, if it was intentional I totally get it, cause it fits perfectly with the horror theme of Spooktober 🤣

But that's really the only thing. Other than that I absolutely loved this game to bits!! I'm really looking forward to your future games!! ❤️💕

Is this game still playable without having to look up/down? My keyboard doesn't have an FN key ><

Oh no I'm sorry for the inconvenience!! The fn key function is totally optional so you don't have to worry! It's still playable!!

(+1)

Oh phew thanks. I can't wait to play ^^

I wish this game could be playable in the browser </333

Hi! Question is there a way to restart? Without having to do the full ending and having to do all of that or do you have to go through everything?

Hi there!! For you to completely restart from scratch you need to delete and redownload/reextract the zip file! Otherwise the game will remember your choices and deaths even after you die or restart in-game and you need to go through everything!

(+2)

Point and click escape rooms, my biggest weakness!! I'm glad to know most of the confusion I am feeling was intentional (although forgetting the controls didn't help me XP). Lovely and spooky art and an engaging story! :)
(+1)

I don't know what I just played, it was so disturbing dang.

Couldn't have manage it without the solution tho thanks for putting it. (Note that I had weird problem with input like dial or the password thing, might because I am in an european computer in AZERTY?)

(+1)

(Whoops, posted from wrong account earlier.)

Anyway, I think I was saying that the game really stood out for the Spooktober VN Jam and I just had to check it out! Loved the menacing and comedic vibes, the writing and the art go great together. Really appreciate all the effort put into the CGs, too. Thanks for a fantastic time!

(+1)

I just wanted to say this game is absolutely AMAZING!!! I loved every minute of it! it was spooky but also funny, and the characters were extremely charming with their interactions :))) I had so much fun playing!!

(+1)

this game is so good?? I LOVE HOW ITS SUPER LIKE CONFUSING AND STUFF??? i wanna cosplay the characters so bad

SPOILERS at the comment----

AT first I was extremelly frustred with the controls. I didnt think it was intuitive, even though they show at the begining. I find it weird at the begining how you just DIE out of nowhere and went to the main menu and just to continue on a new game, though after the 3rd death it finally got the fell of the game.

The narrative kind of messy BUT it was very interesting and the theme is amazing, a little bit gore but acceptable for general audience, the red button was the only one who got me a little bit jumpy.

I miss a screen to check the endings.

The visual is very appealing the vintage and the character design was suberb.

The ending was the best part, i don't know if the answers after the first question had any weight on the ending but i found it very enjoyable.

(1 edit)

Hello, would like to request some help (possible spoilers)

----------------------

I'm stuck on getting the scissors from the doppelgangers, it seems like I'm dying no matter how many times I talk to the coworker doppelganger first. Is there a correct sequence of dialogue before the "Push" option comes up?

Also, for each tip in the guide that has you "restart" the game, do you have to do it in the restart immediately after, or can you do it later. For example, I called the phone number and then died in that run. Do I need to go straight to Room 6 after 1 restart to pick up the phone or can I die again that next run and pick it up later?

(2 edits)

Hello!! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been having problems! Are you playing on windows or mac?

Also you can pick it up whenever you like even after multiple restarts, you don't have to go to floor 6 straight away!

(1 edit)

I am playing on mac. I haven't been able to do either the Cake restart or the Doppelganger Coworker restart... Thank you for the help

(1 edit)

Alright! In order for your game to run as it should it needs to be able to autosave itself but for the mac version if you download it the wrong way the saving function doesn't work at all, ultimately fully resetting every time you die without remembering what you did past run!

I wrote it in the download instructions that when you download the zip file, you need to extract the zip file into a folder- and when you open the folder, drag the "game" file (only the game file not the entire folder) out from that folder and into your applications folder. Once you get the game file in the applications folder, try to open the game file there- if it doesn't open continue clicking until it does and it'll eventually let it run. If you did this the right way then your game'll be able to save and let the game run/progress normally! Try redownloading and follow those steps again? Hope this was helpful!!

(+1)

Thank you! That worked. I forgot to put it in the Applications folder.

(+1)

I had fun playing this!

It just so happened that I ended up picking the meat floor... room first. Imagine how that felt XD

I actually liked the difficulty since it made everything felt more rewarding.

I don't know if it was just me though, but I think I encountered a bug during the cigarette scene where the screen freezes after talking to your companion? It fixes itself after you click 1 and 2 which plays the choice dialogue again.

(+2)

An accurate depiction of office elevator conversation, down to the meat lockers and pools of nuclear radiation... 10/10 would interview again-!

Hi! Can someone help me gaining the lighter? I don't know how i can go to the west wall :(

hi there!! you can leave the point-and-click area by clicking on the green exit icon on your bottom right and when you're on the 3d elevator space you can use left or right arrow keys to look at other walls of the elevator!

Thank u so much! <3

(+2)

Love it! The art, writing, and music are so charming and perfect for the aesthetic <3

Since there's no manual save, however, I do wish there was at least a way to skip or speed up text since going through each play-through to find different endings/solutions does get frustrating.

(+1)

heyhhey a small question, tried to open the game but window is zoomed in, i thought its intentional/will fix itself later on, but looks like its stuck, any help for this or is it a direct pc issue? example provided below, full screening the game doesnt fix the issue

hi there!! first off thank you for trying out the game it means a lot that you downloaded it!! and oh no!! im so sorry that you're facing issues, no one else has gotten that glitch before- did you try closing and reopening the game? maybe when you open it at first and press to start the game don't move/look away or change windows as the opening scene plays since during that an event called "wait" is playing in the code which means it's locking the players in place until the opening is finished so if it bugs itself there it means you're going to be stuck in that sequence! once again sorry for the inconvenience, hope you are able to fix it and play the game!

(-2)

Seems like the issue got fixed after i rebooted my pc, thanks for response and help! im so excited to play this game as it looks absolutely wonderful

(2 edits) (+4)

This was AMAZING A 10/10 PLAY. My friends and I were on the edge of our seats and we definetly flinched a couple of times. Good job!

(1 edit) (+3)

This game was amazing! I absolutely loved it! I'm still amazed by how well it combined horror and comedy elements, and I loved its combination of point-and-click and escape room game mechanics. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a great escape room game with Eldritchian horror elements, and the best elevator music you will probably ever hear.

By the way, I did my best to get all of the endings I could in one playthrough, and even though I succeeded, I still didn't get the 14th ending. Can anyone tell me why, because I know that to get it, you need to get all of the other endings/deaths. I would really appreciate it.

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey! Composer of Elevator Hitch here!
I'm so pleased to know that you liked the OST! It means a lot to me S2

For the 14th ending, this Guide will help you!
Maybe you didn't see all the death and B endings!

(2 edits) (+2)

Thank you so much! I actually did skim through the guide before, but upon reading through it this time, I realised that I should have read through it more thoroughly than I did. I'm going back to get the last ending now.

I really did like the game's soundtrack. It perfectly conveyed the intended atmospheres of the different moments in the game, especially when things were meant to be tense and creepy. The third and fourth floors were especially terrifying to get through for me. The soundtrack is one of the most important parts of any game, especially horror games, and I can say, without a doubt, that the soundtrack was one of the best parts of this game.

(+1)

Thank you again! I feel so fulfilled with this kind of comment!

Good luck with the last ending!

(1 edit) (+2)

Wonderful game.

Did anyone get any endings beside

SPOILER

1, 2, 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 times 2 (I think one of them should have been 11 maybe?)

My final ending is always Escape (ending 1). I thought it might depend on your relationship to your coworker (maybe keeping him from leaving after floor 9...), but this doesn't seem to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.I would love to know how to get all of the endings.

(+1)

Hello there! Thank you so much for checking the game out, we're super honored that you are enjoying it so far and looking to see all the endings!! We just wrote up and uploaded the puzzle/ending guide, feel free to give it a read!! Hope this was helpful and once again thank you so much for sharing your feedback!!

(+2)

This guide is so based of you THANK YOU

(+2)

Thanks for the fun with this game. I also found an additional Ending 12 "Real" by choosing not to trust the co-worker after getting the scissors. I did not find Ending 13 though after getting everything else in the list - is there something that must be done to acquire it?

Also, after getting Ending 12 "Hired" more than once the elevator doors were replaced with a fire exit that just had a black screen and sounds of running down steps but did nothing. Was this something significant?

(+2)

Thank you instead for checking out the game, it really means a lot that you had fun with it!! Oh and you're right- I totally forgot to write about the "Real" ending on the guide, thank you so much for reminding me! Just updated it!

And don't worry about the last ending, you technically already got it! So the thing is- the game intentionally breaks itself when you have gotten all the ending/death. It shuts down everything else and gives you an "exit" as a reward for seeing every content of the game but in reality, it's a never-ending loop of walking down the staircase hoping you're going to reach somewhere (waiting doesn't do anything!) so the final "ending" is impossible to get, and the only way to break the loop is to delete the game file and redownload to start all over again- so it's once again a loop. Sorry for the confusion and thank you for asking/sharing your feedback!!

(+2)

No problem, thanks again. I think the confusion was that you had controls for moving the camera up/down and I could never get that to work, so I assumed that and the fire exit might have been bugged.

Best of luck with your next project!

(+2)

Thank you so much for the great guide. Turns out, I was only missing ending 11.

I can't seem to progress, however. After entering the fire exit door, I just hear walking sounds (the floor is pitch black) and I can't interact with anything. Might be a bug or am I missing something?

(+1)

No problem, we're glad the guide was able to help you!

And that was intentional on our part, don't worry! The game intentionally breaks itself once you have gotten all the ending/death since it means you've already explored and seen every content in the game. It shuts down everything else and "rewards" you by giving you an "exit" for finding everything but in reality, it's a never-ending loop of walking down the staircase forever hoping you're going to reach the bottom someday, any day, and it never comes. The game is now just going to be constantly stuck in that cutscene so the final "ending" is impossible to get, and the only way to unbreak the game is to delete everything and redownload to start all over again- so the entire game is its own loop. Sorry for the confusion this may have caused and thank you so much for asking and sharing your feedback, it means a lot!!

GRAAAHHH I WISH I SAW THIS COMMENT SOONER....i just played tjhe whole ass game twice over because i thought the last ending was broken for some reason LMFAO....

(1 edit) (+2)

Still haven't finished it as I'm currently stuck, absolutely awesome thus far though!

(Possible spoiler? below)

I'm unsure on how to get Chase's lighter.

(+1)

You can get it by

Spoiler

getting the burnt cigarette from the 6th floor. You have to ask him if you can get a light and he will give it to you as long as you have a cigarette.

Thank you tons mate! You were a big help and I was able to continue! :>

(+1)

Hello!! We're super honored that you find the game enjoyable so far- and we're so sorry for the inconvenience/difficulty!! We just wrote up and uploaded the puzzle/ending guide, feel free to give it a read!! Hope this was helpful!! Once again thank you so much for sharing your feedback and checking out the game, it means a lot!!

(+1)

I was able to finish the game, thank you and I really enjoyed how difficult it was, makes it all the more satisfying and fulfilling completing it! I'll check out the ending guide too, to make sure I haven't missed any. I absolutely adored the game and I've had a wonderful time playing it. I'll definitely be replaying it sometime, possibly with a friend or two. It was 101 percent worth the time spent, I adore how the characters and situations were written. (Small spoiler below)

The narration in the beginning plus the rat gave me a good laugh as well.

I look forward to any future games <3

Hello!! We just wrote up and uploaded the puzzle/ending guide, hopefully it can be helpful for you to finish the rest of the game!! So sorry for the difficulty/inconvenience, thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your feedback/checking out the game, it means the world to us!!

(1 edit) (+4)

Great game. Love the atmosphere and art style. It almost reminds me of Your Turn to Die and many other good P&C horror games. [Spoiler: also the "shoving" the thing in the hole... the witch's house??? haha]

Since there are quite a lot of ways to die, I would recommend putting a manual save mechanism OR at least a way to skip text.

(+2)

Banger game

(+2)

Woah, it's a good game

(+1)

how many endings are they ?

(2 edits) (+1)(-1)

There are total of 15 endings along with additional dialogues/interactions that can be found within the runs depending on your dialogue choices!!

(+4)

This game is great, but like really floor 8 really creeped me out most though, it's kinda about what if they successfully get out.

But good game.
